INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF GOOD GOVERNANCE
We are pleased to inform you that in the academic year 2009-10 WSAP is implementing a project of the Intensive Programme under LLP Erasmus. The Summer School on Good Governance in the Context of the European Integration: Institutions-Rights-Societies will take place from 27th June and 10th July 2010 and it is addressed to 1st and 2nd cycle students from Lithuania, Italy, Turkey and Poland.
The Summer School on Good Governance in the Context of the European Integration: Institutions-Rights-Societies is addressed to first and second year students of Administration, International Relations, and Journalism from Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and Turkey. During the Summer School 25 students will be provided with the latest knowledge in the field of Good Governance. ”Good Governance” is an issue of great importance to the quality of government understood as the manner and effects of exercising power, which basically comes down to the activity of administration. This factor largely affects the chances for the social and economic development of the individual states.
The classes will be conducted by the teachers from the universities that participate in the project: the theoreticians and practitioners of modern administration. Students’ participation in the project is conditioned upon their high grade point average and good knowledge of English proven with a certificate or English teacher’s opinion (alternatively, with a good performance at English class at university). The language of instruction is English. The recruitment of foreign students is conducted by the Project Coordinators at their home universities.
ERASMUS AT WSAP 2009-10
In the winter semester 2009-10 WSAP is hosting 12 foreign students from our partner universities from Turkey - Ege University and Adnan Menderes University, who will be studying here within the framework of LLP Erasmus. Moreover, 21 WSAP students will be studying at our partner universities in Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Turkey, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Lithuania in the winter semester. The next persons will be able to take advantage of the Programme in the spring semester.
NEW PARTNER UNIVERSITIES IN LLP ERASMUS
The Centre of European Funds and International Relations is pleased to inform
on the new possibilities of student and staff mobility under Erasmus. The list
of our partners has been expanded with the following universities:
• University of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
• Institute of Tourism Studies, Malta (staff mobility)
• The University of Galati, Romania
We are hoping for fruitful cooperation with the new partners.
ERASMUS AT WSAP 2008-9
In the current academic year WSAP there was 17 foreign students from Turkey and Lithuania visiting WSAP under LLP Erasmus. The students participated not only in their courses in English, but also in many integration events and trips as well as in media events. WSAP also hosted the representatives of our foreign partners: Tana Karlikova, M.A. from the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, prof. Hendryk Malevski and dr Mindaugas Šatas from Siauliai University in Lithuania, as well as Zeynep Cetin and Barris Efe from Adnan Menderes University in Turkey. In 2008-9, 37 students of WSAP went abroad for their studies under Erasmus.
SEMINAR BY PROF. JEAN-CLAUDE GARCIA-ZAMOR FROM FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY.
WSAP is pleased to invite all students to take part in the seminar on “The Political, Social and Economic Context of Public Administration” given by an outstanding Professor of Public Administration, Jean-Claude Garcia-Zamor from Florida International University. The Seminar will take place between 18-22 May 2009.

The University of Pisa invites all WSAP students and the international students to participate in the 4th edition of UNIVERSO CORTO – an International Contest for short films and documentaries addressed to university and post-graduate students and enrolled in schools of cinema.

ERASMUS STUDENTS AT WSAP
In the summer semester 2008-9 WSAP is hosting Erasmus students from our 3 partner universities: Ege University and Adnan Menderes University from Turkey and Siauliai University from Lithuania. All WSAP students are welcome to join them at their classes in run English, which are also open to all Polish students, as well as to exchange your student experiences outside the class. ERASMUS CHRISTMAS EVE MEETING
On 19th December 2008 there was a Christmas Eve meeting that took place in the beautiful spot of Ritowisko in the middle of a forest. The Christmas meeting combined with a sleigh ride was organized for our Erasmus students and their Polish mentors. So there were Polish Christmas dishes, Christmas carols and much awaited snow – all contributing to a great Christmas atmosphere.

The Bialystok ESN section (Erasmus Student Network) organizes a celebration of this organization’s 10th Anniversary in Poland between 17 and 19th November 2008. Erasmus Student Network is an European non-profit student organization, which aims to support and develop international student exchange programmes, particularly the Erasmus Programme. GAUDEAMUS FOR 2300 STUDENTS - 2008-10-13
2300 first year students participated in the academic year inauguration. The total number of WSAP students amounts to 5 thousand students. In this year 36 WSAP students will benefit from the scholarships offered under the LLP Erasmus Programme and will study in Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Italy. 2 of our students accomplished internships with Istanbul Governor’s Office, Turkey.
WSAP is to host 15 students from Turkey and 14 from Byelorussia and Armenia.
WSAP will be implementing EU projects of total value of PLN 38 million 95 thousand, including such as: “Aware Choice-Success Assured – Development Projects for Vocational Schools”, “Management Modernization in Local Government Administration”, “The European Officer”, and “A School of Key Competences”.
In the last five years WSAP has been ranked very high among the Polish universities, having been awarded the first and second ranks in the rating by Rzeczpospolita newspaper and Perspektywy monthly.
LLP ERASMUS PROGRAMME STUDENTS - 2008-10-13
This winter semester we are hosting 15 students from Ege University and Adnan Menderes University, Turkey. The students have been visiting us under the LLP Erasmus Programme.
They are being looked after by their tutors – WSAP students, who can gain intercultural and international experiences in this way.
